House Up Lagos Competition Goes Live
The housing deficit in Lagos has reached a record high in recent years. Lagosians live in slums, and those who don’t, live in cramped up spaces with increasing health and security problems. House Up Lagos is an attempt to solve Lagos housing problems at a low cost.
House Up Lagos will crowdsource the solutions for Lagos’ housing problems from architects, quantity surveyors, designers and civil engineers. The competition objective is simple: design a self-contained apartment with a 500,000 naira cost per unit.
Who Can Participate?
Anyone with the resources to research and design these solutions can participate. Undergraduates and fresh graduates are encouraged to participate. Individuals can register as a group or compete alone. Participants who form a team, if successful, will share the reward for their win.
Rewards
The House Up Lagos will handsomely reward its participants. The winner goes home with 2.5 million naira and a postgraduate scholarship offer. The second place will win 1.5 million naira. While the third place contestant will win 1 million naira.
That is not all though. The successful team will be commissioned to join the House Up Lagos project to execute the winning plan. Winners will get an offer to work for the hosts, Rhema Project BCEGI.

Eligibility
- Participants should not be older than 30 years as at the time of submission.
- The competition is only open to Nigerian citizens living in Nigeria.
- Top entries must be available for a live presentation
- Participants can be professionals from different fields
Submissions
After registering, each participant will get a mail with guidelines before embarking on the project. Shortlisted candidates will get an invite for a live presentation of their design.
After submissions, a team of qualified judges will vet all designs with our in-house experts to shortlist candidates for the live presentation stage.
